Bacon Jalapeno Turkey Burgers

Updated: Aug 28, 2018

Need a little zip for your weeknight burgers? These will hit the spot! While you can certainly use ground beef this turkey burger is very flavorful.

If you like a spicier burger you can add additional jalapeno and some of your favorite hot sauce. Remember that jalapenos can range greatly in spice level so proceed with caution!

In my opinion the bacon tastes so indulgent you don’t even need a bun. Top with some sliced avocado, my Spicy Pimento Mayo, and you have yourself a quick and extremely filling meal.

Yield: 4 burgers

Ingredients:

1 lb ground turkey

2 T flaxseed meal

1 small jalapeno, seeded and minced

1 t sea salt

½ t paprika

½ t garlic powder

½ t black pepper

¼ t mustard powder

8 strips of bacon

Process:

  • In a large mixing bowl combine ground meat, flaxseed meal, jalapeno, and seasonings.

  • Divide meat and form into four burgers.

  • Take two strips of bacon and form a cross over each burger wrapping loose ends beneath the burger patty.

  • Pre-heat a large skillet and cook burgers for about 7 minutes on each side, starting with the side with loose bacon ends.

Notes: Due to bacon fat no oil is needed in the skillet.
